Glossier Solution vs Paula's Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant
The first product we are going to talk about in this comparison is Glossier’s Solution - An exfoliating skin perfector that ‘transforms the look of skin in four weeks.’ This solution is a liquid that is applied with a cotton pad to the skin in the morning and/or in the evening. This product contains a magical 10% blend of acids and Glossier’s very own anti-stress complex.
The anti-stress complex contains ingredients such as aloe, glycerin and niacinamide which are all calming and soothing for the skin. The exfoliation part of this product comes from the acids. Included in this solution are; salicylic acid (BHA), lactic acid (AHA), glycolic acid (AHA), and gluconolactone (PHA). Whilst all of these acids have been included for their exfoliation properties, each of them are able to treat other skin concerns. For example, lactic acid is mainly an exfoliant but it is also able to help lift dark pigmentation from within the skin.
The clinical trial for Glossier’s Solution boasts fantastic results. It claims that after 24 hours skin is cleaner and softer. Users felt the product working right away. After one week, skin was smoother, brighter and clearer. After two weeks, pores appeared smaller, skin glowed and blackheads were reduced even around the nose area. After three weeks, users felt that the solution had unclogged pores and reduced redness. They said their skin tone was more even. Finally, in a poll of solution users with acne prone skin, 94% said that their skin looked clearer.
Likewise, Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant is a liquid that is applied with a cotton pad to the skin in the morning and/or evening. This product also has a calming and soothing element to it as it includes green tea extract. However, the liquid exfoliant does not contain multiple exfoliating ingredients, it only contains one acid. Salicylic acid (BHA). Salicylic acid is great for those who suffer with breakouts as it is able to effectively exfoliate the skin even whilst oil is sat on the surface.
Users of Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant say that their skin felt cleaner and softer. They also commented on how their acne disappeared and their skin tone improved massively. Even those with sensitive skin have said how it has calmed any inflammation and angry spots.
With all that in mind, it’s no surprise that both of these products are suitable for all skin types but are most beneficial for those who experience acne, blemishes and enlarged pores. Due to the exfoliation element within both of these products, they would also be suitable for those who are looking to brighten dull skin.
Lastly, one of the key differences between these products is the cost and sizing options. Firstly, Glossier’s Solution only comes in one size, 4.4 oz and costs $26. Whilst Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant comes in two sizes, 4 oz and a travel size. They retail for $34 and $13. Having a smaller, travel friendly size is perfect for those who want to try this product before committing to the full size.
